Speakers and performers wait in the wings.  Left to Right: Jimmy Day, Gabrielle West, Scotty Rigsby, Rev. Rick Linn, Col. Marshall Scantlin, Chett Haynes, Rev. Dr. Mickey Moriarty, and Pam McDaniel (seated on stage)

Col. Scantlin issues the commands as the ROTC
and Police color guards prepare to
present colors.

Color guards from Police and Fire Departments prepare to present colors.

With color guards from every corner meeting at the central flagpole, the ROTC raises the flag,
and the City Council leads the crowd in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.

The Commemorative Air Force provided an especially moving flyover tribute,
including this missing man formation.

This group of citizens displays their patriotism,
both in their attire and in their enthusiastic participation in one of several sing-alongs.

The crowd listens respectfully during a quieter moment.

Long-time local resident Welton Fail lights the first flame while Dr. Mary Sykes (left), Jo Lyn Climer (second from right), and Jimmy Day (right) prepare
to light additional candles to share with the crowd as the service draws closer to the end.

Pam McDaniel lights up the stage and fires up the crowd with her rousing rendition of "Reach Out
and Touch".

Thanks to Mary Kinnard of the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce for providing these great photos!
